About NLG
Let’s be honest — most language programs get it backwards.
They try to cram you into some one-size-fits-all structure and then act surprised when life gets in the way.
At Next Level German, we do it differently. Your real life is the lesson. That is, we flip the usual approach to language learning on its head. Instead of forcing learners to fit a rigid curriculum, the learning fits your life — spontaneous, flexible, and rooted in the real world.
Every learner is different — and that’s exactly the point.
Our strategy is to help you apply language learning to your actual life — as it happens. Your real-world moments become the lessons themselves. That means learning German through the stuff you actually deal with — your job, your kids, your neighbors, your everyday chaos — and building your skills as those moments come up. Real conversations. Real context. Real results.
We blend real content, lived experience, and digestible doses of new language — all in the most convenient, practical, and effective way possible. It’s German learning that flexes with your life, not the other way around.
We keep it simple. Because learning German shouldn’t take over your life… it should help you live it.Â
NICE TO MEET YOU
I'm Christine
And I'm not just here to teach you German — I'm here to guide you through a cultural and emotional transition I've truly lived, and I bring professional, linguistic, and cross-cultural expertise to back it up.
By the time I reached fluency in German, I’d lived through just about every expat challenge you can imagine: raising kids in a new culture, navigating endless layers of bureaucracy, and figuring out how to build a community from scratch.
Those experiences shaped not just my language skills, but the way I understand what it really means to integrate. Because language learning isn’t just about memorizing words — it’s about confidence, connection, and feeling like you finally belong somewhere new.
That’s why I created Next Level German: to help you cut through the noise, skip the fluff, and focus on what actually works. No endless drills. No one-size-fits-all textbook lessons. And definitely no wasted hours on methods that sound good but don’t deliver. Instead, I teach practical tools, shortcuts, and real-life communication strategies that get you speaking sooner, connecting faster, and feeling less alone while you do it.
Because at the end of the day, this isn’t about perfect grammar — it’s about building a life that feels like your own, right here in Germany.Â

Why trust me?
I’ve called Germany home for over 20 years, and I’ve experienced the full journey from awkward newcomer to confident, fluent insider. Along the way, I earned my C2 certification, studied language, culture, and communication, and built a bilingual career that has had me switching between English and German more times than I can count.
Professionally, I’ve worked across education, cross-cultural communication, and language support — helping international professionals, students, and families find their footing and their voice in everyday German life. Personally, I’ve done it all while raising a family, navigating German schools, handling all that delightful bureaucracy, and building lasting friendships across languages and cultures.
So when I tell you I get it — I really do.
And when I say there’s a faster, kinder, and far more human way to learn German, I mean it — because I’ve lived it.
Everything inside Next Level German is built from that mix of experience: the academic understanding of how languages work, and the real-world wisdom of how life in Germany actually feels. My goal is simple — to help you learn better, faster, and more meaningfully, so you can stop feeling like a visitor and start feeling at home.

Why I Do It This Way
Multilingual is not a term I heard while growing up in Boston, a very culturally diverse city. While my parents did their best, I longed to know more, see more, do more, hear more ...and become multilingual. Our global community is so full of inspiring stories, this pushed me to aim higher. But despite my best efforts, learning in classrooms was tough and disheartening.
Once I experienced immersion language learning in Mexico, it was clear to me that this was THE way to learn! After moving to Germany to learn German, I taught English to earn a living. Over the last 20+ years, I've imitated the experiential immersion method by integrating real-life activities and content into my language lessons. It's the same way that children learn languages, and they don't need a grammar book to do it. The approach is known today as CLIL (content- and language-integrated learning), and it's getting noticed all over the world.
I realized that the methods I used could help others like me who wanted to learn naturally but didn’t grow up in multilingual families. So I made it my mission to show as many people as possible how this method allows them to use their own natural ability to learn languages. In this case, to learn German!
