Get 50 minutes of just EnglishÂ
speaking practice
WITH ENGLISH SPEAKERS.
Wouldn't it be great
if you could have...
A safe space to speak German
...with a fluent German speaker who is patient, understanding and ready to listen?
More than 10 minutes of Talk Time?
The "50/50" program gives you 50 minutes of uninterrupted German conversation time. Half of that those 50 minutes of German is guided, the other half is unstructured free-flow conversation.
Your conversation partner is a fluent German speaker, who'll be looking forward to speaking English with you during the English-language half of the evening, which is also 50 minutes -Â the other half of the 50/50 deal.
A Pre-Event Prep Kit & A Follow-Up Call?
The Prep Kit gives you all you'll need before the event--including situational scripts and prompts to use during the 50/50 MeetUp.Â
Then, AFTER the MeetUp, you'll get a link to book your free follow-up call with Christine.
Does This Sound Like You?
- You’ve learned some German… but in real conversations, you freeze or fall back into English.
- You’re tired of people switching to English the second you hesitate.
- You can handle the basics, but you want to speak more smoothly and more confidently in real life.
- You want a space where it’s normal to be imperfect — and where nobody corrects you mid-sentence.
- You do better with a bit of structure (so you don’t go blank), but you also want real, natural conversation.
- You want to learn grammar the way it actually sticks: through use, repetition, and hearing it modeled — not worksheets.
- You’d love to leave the evening thinking: “Okay. I can do this.”Â
Have We Met?
Hi, I'm Christine,Â
and I really know what it’s like to learn German in real life.
I’ve lived in Germany for over 21 years, and I didn’t learn the language in a perfect classroom bubble — I learned it standing at bakery counters, in parent-teacher meetings, and on phone calls I didn’t feel ready to make.
With a background in psychology and linguistics, and over two decades of teaching experience, I’ve seen that most people don’t struggle with vocabulary — they struggle with their environment. That’s why I created the 50/50 Meet-Up: a structured, balanced space where you can stay in the language long enough for it to click — naturally, without pressure or correction.
Have You Ever Wondered...
Why your German seems to disappear the moment someone looks at you?
Why you get the the grammar — but can’t access it under pressure?
Why conversations feel like a test instead of a social exchange?
That’s not a lack of ability.
That’s performance anxiety.
When you feel evaluated, your brain tightens.
When you feel safe, it opens.
This format is designed for the second one.
Yes, I want in!Just Imagine the Possibilities
Imagine speaking German for 50 full minutes — without anyone switching to English.
Imagine equal time, real exchange, and native speakers who respect the format.
Imagine noticing grammar patterns simply because you stayed in the conversation long enough to hear them.
And imagine leaving the room thinking:
“That felt solid.”
That’s what this evening is designed to create.
Yes, I want in!3 Very Important Things We'll Cover
#1
How to Stay in the Language
Simple, practical strategies to avoid switching, translating, or freezing — so conversations continue naturally.
#2
How Native Modeling Builds Grammar Automatically
Why hearing correct structures repeatedly in real conversation strengthens fluency more effectively than constant correction.
Â
#3
How to Use Structure Without Killing Flow
A guided format that gives you direction — without turning the evening into a classroom.
I Bet You Didn't Know...
Most language learners don’t struggle because they lack vocabulary.
They struggle because conversations end too quickly.
The moment someone switches to English…
or corrects every sentence…
or explains grammar mid-thought…
your brain shifts into performance mode instead of absorption mode.
Language sticks when you stay in it long enough.
When patterns repeat.
When grammar is modeled naturally.
In other words...
Your brain doesn’t learn language through correction. It learns through exposure, repetition, and meaningful use.
When conversations are constantly interrupted — by switching languages or explaining grammar — your brain shifts into analysis mode. That’s useful sometimes.Â
But fluency grows in absorption mode. Research in language acquisition shows that patterns stick when you hear them repeatedly in real context — not when studied in isolation.
That’s why we give you uninterrupted conversation.
Not by accident. By design.
I bet you're wondering...
